- Avoid flaunting your valuables such as jewellery watches, gadgets in public.
- Avoid talking loudly in Indian languages in public. The locals may not like it.
- Find out how safe the locality is. Some areas may have local gangs.
- Try to avoid any sort of confrontation with strangers who you feel are not genuine.
- Avoid solitary walks at night.
- Don’t jump queues.
- Avoid going to night clubs. If you do so, it is at your own risk.
- Most universities have their own partying events at the weekends within their university premises, which are closely monitored by the security staff.
- Insurance cover is must for traveling abroad for studies. I had a dental impaction of my wisdom tooth which was completely covered by insurance.
